Overview
DRIFT is a saturation plugin with a wandering soul. The distortion curve doesn't sit still — it shifts continuously, driven by the Drift parameter, so your signal is never processed the same way twice.
Warm and musical at low settings. Gritty and unpredictable pushed hard. Everything in between.
Drive
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Drive | Pushes the signal into saturation. From gentle warmth to hard clipping. At low levels, Drive adds subtle harmonic richness. Pushed hard, it saturates aggressively — and because the curve is always moving, the clipping character constantly shifts. |
Drift
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Drift | The wandering parameter. Steers the saturation curve continuously over time — the higher it goes, the more the character shifts. At zero, the curve is static (traditional saturation). As you turn it up, the transfer function begins to move, creating a distortion that's never quite the same from moment to moment. |
Depth
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Depth | Controls how far the curve travels from its center position. More depth means more variation in the saturation character. Low depth keeps changes subtle — the curve wanders close to home. High depth lets it roam far, producing dramatic shifts in tone and harmonic content. |
Spread
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Spread | Widens the drift behavior between left and right channels for stereo movement. At zero, both channels drift identically. Turned up, each channel wanders independently, creating a wide, evolving stereo image where the saturation character differs between left and right. |
React
| Control | Description |
|---|
| React | How quickly the curve responds to transients. Low React gives smooth, gradual drift — the curve moves on its own timeline regardless of the input. High React makes the curve jump in response to transients, so drums and percussive material steer the saturation character directly. |
Delay
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Delay Time | Built-in delay time. Adds space and rhythmic repeats after the saturation stage. |
| Delay Feedback | Controls how many times the delayed signal repeats. Higher feedback creates longer trails. Because the delay sits after the saturation, each repeat gets re-colored by the drifting curve. |
Tone
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Tone | Post-saturation tonal shaping. Roll off highs for a warmer, darker character or open up the top end to let the saturation harmonics through. Acts as a simple tilt EQ after the drive stage. |
Mix & Output
| Control | Description |
|---|
| Mix | Dry/wet blend for parallel saturation. Blend the drifting saturation back against the clean signal for a more controlled effect. |
| Output | Final output level after saturation and tone shaping. Use it to compensate for gain changes from the Drive control. |
Signal Flow
Input → Drive → Saturation (wandering curve) → Delay → Tone → Mix → Output
