The Remnant - Drone Synth

The Remnant is a drone synthesizer inspired by the SOMA Lyra-8, built as its own instrument. 8 FM voices feed into each other through an 8x8 feedback matrix. Pick a topology or route it yourself, and it keeps evolving once it's running.

• 8 FM Voices with continuous waveform morphing (sine, triangle, saw, noise)
• 8x8 Feedback Matrix with topology presets (Pairs, Ring, Star, Mesh, Chain, Random)
• Touch XY Surface with 12 assignable destinations

Behavior

• Drift Engine for organic pitch wandering
• Evolve System (5 sec - 10 min autonomous mutation: Wander, Breathe, Decay)
• Snapshots save and recall the sound in 8 slots, with a glide of up to 30 seconds

• Resonant Body Filter (Chamber, Cave, Metal, Void)
• Effects: Saturate (2x oversampled), Space, Air

Performance

• Play Mode with 8 touch pads and AR envelopes
• Scale-aware pitch quantization (13 scales)
• Network graphic showing the matrix routing

Formats

• iPhone and iPad: an AUv3 plus a standalone app. Needs iOS 17 or later.
• Mac and Windows: VST3 and CLAP, plus AU on Mac, and a standalone app.
